Covid Vaccinations Now Available Posted on 6 Feb 2021

We have finally received our Covid 19 vaccinations and along with 11 other surgeries in the area have been vaccinating patients in the top 4 "at risk" groups as advised by the Government guidelines. Until every patient in those 4 groups have been vaccinated we are unable to move down the list.

Currently, our vaccination hub is at St Paul's Church, St Paul's Road, Thornton Heath, CR7 8NB. As soon as we are able to give the vaccine at the surgery we will be organising clinics. We are also able to book appointments for our patients at the vaccination clinic at Croydon University Hospital.

Our first 2 weeks of vaccinating have seen over 3500 patients receiving either the Pfizer or the Astra Zeneca vaccine, but we still have a long way to go.

There are 9 groups of patients that have been identified as eligible for vaccination:

  1. residents in a care home for older adults and their carers
  2. all those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers
  3. all those 75 years of age and over
  4. all those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals[footnote 1]
  5. all those 65 years of age and over
  6. all individuals aged 16 years[footnote 2] to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality[footnote 3]
  7. all those 60 years of age and over
  8. all those 55 years of age and over
  9. all those 50 years of age and over

We will call everyone that is eligible to receive a vaccine at the time that it becomes available for that group - please do not contact us to ask when you will get it, our hub will receive vaccines and Government guidance when appropriate. Our surgery is extremely busy and cannot answer queries about when vaccines will become available as we do not have that information.

We understand that there are many patients that are unsure or reluctant to have the vaccination.
