Emergency medication service when you run out via NHS 111.
The NHS CPCS (Community Pharmacist Consultation Service) allows patients' access to an emergency supply of medication if they run out when their GP surgery is closed, or if the usual 48 hour wait means they may be without medication for a period of time. By ringing NHS 111 free a patient may be given the option to attend another healthcare provider locally to collect a limited number of medications, allowing them time to request their medications through the usual channels at their own surgery.
